Igniting

my love,

this evening light you entered my room
in shadow
and I watched you dance in illumined leaves
across a cold-hearted stone
floor, you slipped through
a crack in my door
and ignited me,

and so I became a burnished beam,
brazened by that inner flame;
that scans across oceans
and skims o'er perilous seas
steady as a night
light-
O I will brave the seething storms
to guide you home.

I am your lighthouse.

Find your way back home to me-

WHY I WRITE

I write, simply, to dispel the voices in me that demand to be freed. My mind weaves like branches, to and fro, and up- to an opaque sky. Listen and you'll hear those wild leaves, whispering.
